My Mission… I customize every session to provide effective massage therapy that facilitates relaxation and rehabilitation.
My Work… I incorporate the manipulation of the body’s soft tissues for the purpose of relaxation, rehabilitation, and health maintenance. I do not discriminate between relaxation and deep tissue massage because all of my sessions involve a variety of massage applications. Rather than following a “cookie-cutter” routine, I choose to customize every session to effectively address your needs that day. Prenatal, infant, and geriatric massage sessions with a relaxation focus are also available!
My Training… I completed the 800 hour massage program at the Indiana College of Bodywork Modalities, Inc. in November of 2000 and I have loved my career ever since! Right after graduation I signed up for the graduate assistant program and earned another 420 hours of training with Horace and Marilyn Davis. I worked as a teacher’s assistant under Stephanie Simonson, co-author with Mary Beth Braun of the essential massage textbook Introduction to Massage Therapy. I taught the 720 hour massage program at Kaplan College in Indianapolis, IN for two and a half years. I decided to stop teaching to focus on raising my son, born in November 2007. I am also a certified member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).
I worked in a day spa in Bloomington, IN for about a year after I graduated, but I knew I wanted to be my own boss. I began my private practice after moving to the Zionsville area in 2002. I started my practice out of my home, and then moved to an office that gradually evolved into the space that I’m in today.
I graduated from Indiana University in December of 2004 with a BS in General Studies. I initially returned to college to pursue a career in Physical Therapy, but I never felt as strong of a connection as I did to massage. I pursed different educational avenues and eventually I was able to design my own degree. In the end I had a concentration in social and behavioral sciences with a psychology minor. I feel blessed because I was able to combine classes that I never would have combined before.
